Waiheke Island

One of the best day trips we did while in New Zealand.

Waiheke Island is the most populated and second-largest island in the Hauraki Gulf.

It is a paradise only a stone away from Auckland City (only 40 minutes). We chose to take the Fullers Ferry for an affordable option and the best scenic experience. We were with dear friends and had an amazing time!

There are a lot of things to do on the island, most were outdoor activities but one thing to not miss is visiting the vineyards and winery...the island is full of it!

The closest from the port and with the best sea view.

If you are only doing this for half a day like us then choose the closest one and that is the Cable Bay Vineyards.

Cable Bay offers a truly memorable vineyard experience – a cellar door for tasting award-winning wines, exquisite cuisine in their restaurants, and breath-taking sea views.

I mean look at these views...

So order a bottle (or bottles) to share, munch on some nibbles and take all these gorgeous sceneries in.

We will definitely come back and explore this island more.
